 what is ovulation calendar

 Ovulation calendar

There’s a short time window in the middle of the menstrual cycle that is the most favorable for getting pregnant. Female germ cells (ova) can be fertilized within 1-3 days, and sperm cells remain viable about 2-3 days. So, a life span, when a spermatozoon can fuse with an ovum and fertilize it, makes up 3 or 4 days in the most favorable conditions. The chances to conceive are the highest during the ovulation phase.
The most suitable time for sexual intercourse with the conception objective is when ovulation is about to occur, as the cervical mucus lining becomes extremely responsive and spermatozoa have sufficient time to travel down the fallopian tubes and wait for a female germ cell to be released. A couple should practice sex daily these few days in order not to miss the moment.

The program calculating a low and high likelihood of conception enables to define the most favorable days for fertilization. The program refers to a fertility awareness-based (calendar-based) method of contraception. That is, days 12-16 after the menses are considered to be pregnancy-favorable days for a regular 28 day cycle.
In order to make your personal fertility calendar, just enter your menstrual cycle duration (it usually equals 28 days) and the first day of the last menstrual cycle, then press “Calculate”.
Please pay attention that Day 1 of the menstrual cycle starts from the first day of menstruation.
The duration of menstrual cycle (in days) is 22-33 days (do not mix it up with menstruation duration)*
First day of the last menstruation (date)*
(DD.MM.YYYY)

Basal body temperature (BBT) monitoring is another method for determining the most favorable time for conception
The beginning of a menstrual cycle is completely unpredictable for many women as it depends on many factors, including health condition, drugs administration, nervous breakdowns and affection. In such a case, a fertility period can be determined by taking basal body temperature (rectal temperature). The temperature is taken daily upon waking up in the morning in a lying position. BBT rises between 0.2 and 0.4 °С (0.3 and 0.7 °F) in the mid-cycle which bespeaks the ovulation occurrence.
The BBT should be taken with one and the same thermometer.
Always record all concurrent factors (disease, stress, transition, etc.). It will enable you to understand body basal temperature shifts when interpreting the temperature graph. Record temperature readings right after taking it so as not to forget to do it later. Keep it in mind that a correct graph interpretation requires at least 3 months of observation.
A correct interpretation of a BBT curve, which is very important, is rather complicated.
Cervical mucus observation is another method
The method includes the cervical mucus observation that will fill soft to the touch, transparent and ropy like raw albumen. If to rub the mucus between a thumb and index finger and then to move fingers apart, the mucus will tear not at once.
Sympto-Thermal Method (STM)
The best way of applying natural calculation methods to determine days favorable for conception is the combination of such methods, better known as a sympto-thermal method. Such technique includes taking basal body temperature, daily mucus observation and keeping accurate menstrual cycle calendar. By observing own body, you will note other symptoms, even insignificant ones. Some women get so experienced that can exactly identify the ovulation day due to feeling pains in the lower belly.
Ovulation Predictor Kits
Ovulation predictor kits work as pregnancy tests. It also gives two cross-lines upon contact with the urine. One check-out line indicates that a kit is operational, the other line indicates a rise of the concentration of lutenizing hormone (LH). The acute release of the hormone leads to the release of the ovum that occurs 24-36 hrs after the hormone peak concentration. As ovulation is estimated within several days, a kit includes 5 tests. If the second line remains lighter than the check-out line within several menstrual cycles, a woman should consult a gynecologist-endocrinologist, because ovulation may have failed to occur. Appearance of two lines of the same intense color is taken as evidence of the LH peak concentration. This means a right time for conception that will last 2-3 days. .

A woman’s body is much more sophisticated than any fertility or ovulation calendar used to estimate ovulation time. Fertility, pregnancy and ovulation calendar are not viewed by scientists as reliable methods for detecting fertile days. Please use only scientifically proven, effective means of tracking fertility and ovulation periods for the sake of preserving your health and saving your time. Your Cycle, a mini-microscope used for saliva-activated ovulation detection, has the highest proven accuracy in determining fertility periods. It substitutes a variety of calendars and calculators, as well as some unsafe detection techniques and devices of questionable quality.
